Directions
Pempek or empek-empek is a food made from soft ground fish meat mixed with starch or sago flour, as well as a composition of several other ingredients such as eggs, mashed garlic, flavoring, and salt. Pempek is usually served with vinegar sauce which has a sour, sweet, and spicy taste. Pempek is often referred to as a typical Palembang food, although almost all regions in South Sumatra, Jambi and Bengkulu also produce it.
Steps
1 Done | Ingredients for Pempek dough:- 3 beaten eggs (mixed into the pempek mixture). |
2 Done | Ingredients for stuffing:- 2 eggs beaten with salt, a little sugar. |
3 Done | How to cook :In a saucepan, mix flour, water, salt and sugar. Stir well. Turn on the fire, cook, stirring constantly, until it thickens like porridge (be careful not to burn) Remove. Let it warm. |
4 Done | Transfer the hot springs to a bowl. In a warm state add garlic, beaten egg. Stir well with a wooden spoon. |
5 Done | Enter the sago little by little. Stir well. |
6 Done | Rub hands with sago, take some of the dough in a cylindrical shape |
7 Done | Make a hole using the index finger. Shape like a cone then fill with beaten egg |
8 Done | Cover the pempek dough tightly so it doesn’t open when boiling |
9 Done | Boil pempek in boiling water until cooked, remove from heat. |
