
Japanese Grilled Beef Tongue
(Gyutan)
Be extra careful while grilling, as they burns very easily

4 ounces Beef tongue

1 tablespoon Soy sauce

1/2 tablespoon Sake

1/2 tablespoon Sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon Yuzu juiceOr lemon juice

1 tablespoon Yuzu koshoOptional

Directions
This isn’t everyone recipe, as some of us hesitate to eat beef tongue and prefer to eat their meat instead. Specific sauce are needed to yield the exact taste of Gyutan which distinguish with ordinary grilled or BBQ beef tongue.
In a small bowl, combine yuzu kosho if using, soy sauce, sake, sesame oil, yuzu juice or lemon juice and black pepper, and whisk them together.
Marinade the beef tongue slices with combined seasoning ingredient for 30 minutes, avoid over marinade so the tongue will not too salty.
Meanwhile, start the charcoal grill.
Lay the beef tongue slices on the grilling grates for 2 minutes, flip and cook the other side for another 2 minutes or until brown and little crispy on the surface.
Serve with lemon or lime wedges, dipping sauce and hot steamed rice if desired.
