Directions
Flamenquin is a traditional dish from Andalusia, Spain. It is a breaded and fried roll filled with ham, cheese, and sometimes pork loin or sausage. It is often served as a tapa or appetizer, and can also be served as a main course with a side salad or vegetables.
Steps
1 Done | Start by laying out the pork loin slices on a cutting board. Season each slice with salt and pepper on both sides. |
2 Done | Place a slice of serrano ham and a slice of manchego cheese on top of each pork slice. Roll the pork around the ham and cheese, making sure to tuck in the edges and roll tightly. |
3 Done | In three separate bowls, place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs. |
4 Done | Coat each pork roll in flour, shaking off any excess. Dip in the beaten eggs, making sure to coat well. Finally, roll in the breadcrumbs, pressing them onto the pork roll to ensure a good coating. |
5 Done | Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the pork rolls to the pan. Fry for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy. |
6 Done | Once the Flamenquín is cooked, remove it from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil. |
7 Done | Serve hot with your favorite side dishes, such as a green salad, french fries, roasted vegetables, or your favorite dipping sauce. |
