Fried Quail Egg Skewer

Get your snack time more interesting with this recipe. In Japan, kushikatsu is refers to street food that serve skewered meat, seafood or vegetables. The perfect timing to deep fry is the key to get crispy kushikatsu.

First, prepare the quail eggs. Boil the eggs and let it cool until you can handle. Peel.

Prepare 3 different bowls. Place the all purpose flour in the first bowl, panko in the second bowl.
Crack an egg in the third bowl, add salt and beat the egg.

Heat the vegetable oil in large frying pan or deep frying machine over high temperature.

Thread 5 quail eggs into each skewer.
Dredge each skewer in the flour, shake off the excess.

Dip the floured skewer in the beaten egg, then roll it in panko.

Once the oil heated, put the skewers in the oil. Let it fry for about 3-5 minutes or until the panko coating is golden and crisp.

Remove the skewers from the heat and transfer them to paper towels-lined plate to drain the excess oil. Serve it with your favorite dipping sauce.
