Pakora is a popular Indian snack made from besan (chickpea flour) and various vegetables, typically deep-fried until crispy and golden.

Steps

1
Done

In a large bowl, mix together the besan, cumin, coriander, turmeric, red chili powder, baking powder, and salt.

2
Done

Add all the mixed vegetables to the bowl and mix well.

3
Done

Gradually add in water to make a thick batter, about the consistency of pancake batter.

4
Done

Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.

5
Done

Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until they are golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.

6
Done

Remove the pakoras from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

7
Done

Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as mint or tamarind chutney.
